As the Summer Turns..

I got to experience Monticello Homecoming for the first time!  Daddy also got his toes wet in experiencing the true experience of Monticello Homecoming.  What's better than cheesecurds, mud volleyball, watching softball, a parade, chicken bbq, and much more (Well, okay, not that much more, but it was worth a try)??....  It got pretty hot in Monticello, so I took plenty of breaks visiting the cows at Grandma and Grandpa Torkelsons and going to my Aunt Wendy and Uncle Chuck's pool to swim.

You make me feel like dancin'

We went to Teddy Bear Park this week to watch Bob and the Beachcombers perform.  I loved listening and dancing to the music!  My mom met two friends she met when she was going to grad school at Concordia.  Both of her friends were pregnant at the same time as her, so us three kids and the three mommies got together at Teddy Bear Park and went to lunch at the Freighthouse.

Happy Fourth of July!

We got to go to my Grandma and Grandpa Torkelson's cabin for five days to celebrate the Fourth of July!  I had a blast seeing a lot of my family and hanging out around the cabin.  My grandpa has a bunch of fish that he caught mounted on one of the walls and every morning that I woke up I ran to the living room, pointed up at the wall, and said "fishy" until someone lifted me up to see them a little closer.  I got to eat breakfast everyday out on the porch and Grandma kept slippin' me goodies that my mom doesn't usually let me eat.

On Thursday we got to go out to dinner at the Good Old Days.  Friday we went out on the boat all day.  I swam in the lake with Daddy for the first time!  We boated down the river to check out River's Bend.  I love helping Grandma drive the boat....she told me that I'm her co-captain.  Saturday morning started with a trip to the flea market  and we got the boat out early to take the pontoon to go get my favorite...pizza!  (However, I decided to skip the pizza and watch some doggies that were nearby instead.)  On Sunday, we went for a bike ride and I got to play in the sand.  We took the boat out for a little bit, but it was really windy.  Monday morning we all relaxed, Grandma took me on a few golf cart rides before we had to go home.

Summer continued....

This week I got my first look at the Splash Pool.  I love the water!  We met A.J., Taylor, & Leighton to got swimming for a couple of hours.  I walked around in the water and thought I was older and maybe a little bit more capable of things than I actually was.  I definitely want to make a trip back to the Splash Pool this summer!  Since I liked swimming so much on Tuesday, my mom took me swimming on Wednesday to.  There's a new campground that opened up right by our house and they have free swimming on Wednesdays.  I think I need to learn how to swim on my own, because I'm not really into my mom holding me in the water.  I want to do it all on my own :)
